If there is one essential morph to have in your collection, it is the Hypo/Ghost! For simplicity sake I will refer to them as ghosts in this article.

I remember when I was getting started and I asked a friend of mine, Doug Beard, what morphs he felt were most important to have in a collection, he was convinced that the Ghost was the most under rated morph and that it would play a huge part in creating future designer morphs.

Although some breeders refer to them as Hypos although Ghost is more common. When they shed, their shed is clear and void of any pattern. Some people have gone as far as stating that het ghost sheds are clear as well, though I have not experienced this myself.

your collection, it is the Ghost!

Soon thereafter many new crosses started to be produced like the Ghost Pastel Jungle, the Caramel Glow, the Mojave Ghost and the Spider Ghost. My personal favorite is the later.

Ghosts come in many different colors ranging from orange, green, yellow, butterscotch and white, which is refereed to as the Desert Ghost. All Ghosts are beautiful, but I am partial to the orange or butterscotch myself.

Different lines of ghost have been proven to be mostly compatible although some lines are not. There have been instances where two ghost have been bred and the resulting clutch produced nothing but normal looking babies. Obviously all double hets for two lines of ghosts.

Ghosts - a must have for any serious breeder with designer aspirations.
