In 2002 Greg Graziani told me about a male he had that he suspected was genetic. He described it as cinnamon colored and was similar in identifying features as a pastel jungle. His belly was clean and white with silverish eyes. For this reason he decided to breed him to a few normals.

That summer Greg called me all excited after hatching out what he later named Cinnamon Pastels. They were definitely genetic and appeared to be dominant or even co-dominant. The announcment of this new morph was not exactly met with accolades. The Cinnamon Pastels subtle color and less than striking appearance left much to be desired by many breeders and the initial $7,500 asking price was not greeted with much enthusiasm.

Greg stayed obtimistic and believed that the best things were yet to come. The following year, Greg bred the original Cinnamon Pastel male to some of his own line of Graziani Pastel Jungles. What resulted was something that even Greg never expected. Out of seven eggs four of the hatclings were totally different from anything that had ever been hatched before.

They were light gray in color with a slight peach hue. I was the first to see pictures of them and I was blown-away. Greg officially dubbed them 'Pewter Pastels' and when he finally released photographs of them, all the nay-sayers sudenly became 'yeah-sayers'!

Overnight, Cinnamon Pastels became one of the hottest comodities and their price rocketed up to $15,000. All of a sudden Cinamon Pastels were a 'must have' morph and Greg Graziani had the last laugh...all the way to the bank!
